“I do solemnly swear that you will support the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Connecticut, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; and that I will faithfully discharge, according to law, the duties of the office of Notary Public to the best of my ability. So help me God.”
This is the Oath I have proudly taken in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Connecticut. The office of Notary Public has a proud and ancient heritage. As early as the days of the Roman Empire there is mention of its fore-runners: the “scriba”, “notarii”, “tabularii” and “tabelliones.” Originally the “notarius” was a mere scribe taking notes and drafting instruments. Since few people could write, and commercial agreements were made orally, the services of the “notarius” were sought to reduce these agreements to a definite written record. With the growth of commerce and organized civil life, these services were needed for contracts, disposition of property, court records, etc. Practically all important documents since the early Roman Empire were drawn by notaries.
I proudly serve as a mobile Notary throughout the state of Connecticut and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. If you are in need of a Mobile Notary service, please contact us anytime 24/7. We can schedule an appointment to meet at your home, place of business, or any other convenient location.
